To highlight and conclude their year-long study of World History, fifth through eighth grade students at Corpus Christi Academy sponsored a trip through time.

The students guided the student body, faculty, staff and guests through Egypt, Sumeria, Greece, Rome, the Middle Ages and the Renaissance by means of time period models, which they designed and built to scale.  After weeks of research and construction, and using historically correct building materials, the exhibits were enhanced by period costumes, food and presentations set to music of the place and time.

The contestants must have reached her 16th birthday by Oct. 31 and shall not have reached her 22nd birthday by Oct. 31 of the year when the contest is held. Contestants will be judged from the standpoint of beauty, poise and personality.

At 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, they will compete in shorts attire, followed by formal attire at 7:30. There is also a private showing in bathing attire for judges only.

Five finalists will be selected from the contestants, and a first runner-up and winner will then be selected.

Contestants for the 2009 Little Miss and Mister will be judged at 6:30 p.m. Monday in Floral Hall. They should be at the show ring no later than 6 p.m. County winners will be eligible for the state contest at the Kentucky State Fair. First-place winners will receive $25 and a crown, plus a $100 savings bond from Dairy Queen. Second-place winners will receive $15, roses and a ribbon. Third-place winners will receive $10, roses and a ribbon.
