    Cornerstone Christian Academy celebrated their 2016 Homecoming which included spirit week themed-dress days, pep rally, basketball games and homecoming dance and court.

  • Cornerstone host art fest

    Cornerstone Christian Academy hosted an art festival on Jan. 26. Artwork was judged in several categories such as photography, sculpture, pencil, mixed media and digital art. Artwork from 30 participants has been selected to move on to the ACSI (Association of Christian Schools International) Regional Art Festival in February.

    Three weeks later

    “This is the best birthday party ever,” Chloe exclaimed as we danced to the fast music. Our family decided to throw Chloe a 1970s Disco Party, complete with our own disco ball. Scruffy, Rex, Cooper, Gussie, Otis and Barnabus, who we called Barney, all joined us to celebrate.

    “Did you paint the floors and walls?” Barney asked when he arrived.

  • A cure for hams

    Shelby County 4-Her’s added “cure” to their hams to get them ready to hang in the ham house. The hams will be entered in the Kentucky State Fair and compete with more than 800 hams from counties around the state. Fred Rothenburger (foreground) helped his grandson Ayden Morris apply cure while Laura Lynn Best  (background) helped her daughter, Opal.

    Local student graduates from ENMU

    Justin Dickerson graduated from Eastern New Mexico University on Dec. 12, 2015 with a BAAS in Aviation Science. ENMU, a state institution that offers associate, bachelor and master degree options, serves students from around the world. Courses are offered on-campus and online.
