    Shelby County residents were among students at Campbellsville University who received awards at Honors and Awards Day.

  • Shelby students earn EKU scholarships

    Hundreds of incoming freshmen and transfer students have accepted merit-based scholarships to attend Eastern Kentucky University. Local recipients include:

    Shelby County High School graduate Ashley Lynn Frank of Shelbyville has accepted a Music Department Scholarship.

    Shelby County High School graduate Haley Vidal Shepherd of Shelbyville has accepted a Music Department Scholarship.

  • Gallagher named to dean’s list at Eckerd

    Connor Gallagher of Simpsonville was named to Eckerd College's dean's list for the fall 2012 semester. The dean's list is compiled following the fall and spring semesters and includes students who completed at least four courses with a grade point-average of 3.75. Connor is majoring in marine science.

  • Shelby students at Purdue

    Purdue University awarded about 3,300 degrees to students following the fall semester. Among those was Joseph Newton of Shelbyville, who earned a bachelor of science degree.

  • 2 Shelby students on dean’s list at Savannah

    Two Shelby County residents were named to the dean's list at the Savannah College of Art and Design for fall quarter 2012. Full-time undergraduate students who earn a grade-point average of 3.5 or above for the quarter receive recognition on the dean's list were Zachary Lyons of Waddy and Chelsea Strobl of Shelbyville.

    Shelby County residents were among the students recently receiving degrees from the University of Louisville.

  • Zoeller receives honors at McKendree University

    Stefanie Zoeller of Shelbyville was among several outstanding students recognized by McKendree University during an honor society induction ceremony for students at the Louisville and Radcliff campuses.

    Zoeller, a senior who is studying nursing, was inducted into the McKendree University Nursing Honor Society.

  • Manna receives Christian scholarship

    Samantha Manna, a 2013 graduate of Christian Academy of Louisville, has received the Grace University Christian High School Scholarship. The scholarship is awarded to two students who demonstrate strong leadership skills, good academic standing and are motivated to complete their college degree in Grace University’s distinctly Christian environment.

  • Honors at Corpus Christi Academy

    Megan Zoeller, a student from Corpus Christi Academy, won the state competition and has advanced to the regional competition in the Lions' Club Peace Poster Contest.

    Students recognized for academic excellence on the National Latin Exam were Samantha Hosein and Vanesa Rohlin, with a certificate of merit.

    Students from Corpus Christi Academy joined 148,000 students taking the exam from across the United States and Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, New Zealand, Poland, Taiwan, the UK and Zimbabwe.

  • Orchestras receive honors

    The Shelby County High School Orchestra received an overall score of Proficient for KMEA Large Ensemble Festival. This includes a Distinguished rating in sight-reading. Members are Samantha Beavers, Sarah Connor, Mason Daugherty, Chris Downing, Shae Gregg, Blake Hamilton, Kelsey Hargadon, Lindsey Hill, Kristina Hutchins, Madalynn Hyman, AJ Jordan, Eric Lewis, Gerald Tegarden, Austin Woodcock, Sierra Woulfe, Zach Yates, Andrew Hensley.
