    Area students have been named to the dean's list for the spring term at Centre College, an honor reserved for students who maintain at least a 3.60 grade point average. Local students were

  • Carrying on a family tradition and making history

    Holt Tripp, of Shelbyville, comes from a long line of Oklahoma State University alumni and yet, at the same time, he is making history. While Holt’s father Phil Tripp, Uncle Mike Tripp, Aunt Eva and Uncle Pat Edmonds all earned their DVM degrees from OSU, on May 8, Holt will be the first dual degree graduate in the college’s history to earn both his DVM and MBA degrees on the same day.

  • High school students complete Kentucky Center GSA program

    This summer, The Kentucky Center hosted more than 250 eager young artists from every region of the Commonwealth, as The Kentucky Center Governor’s School for the Arts (GSA) took place at Danville’s Centre College from June 21 to July 11. Completingthe program from Shelby County were Jonathan Watts of Christian Academy of Louisville, instrumental music; and Hannah Mattingly of Collins High School, drama.

  • Adams receives scholarship

    Keith Adams was the first recipient of a $1,000 scholarship given from the Keaton McMurray Memorial scholarship and a $1,000 tool set was donated from Napa.
