  • Waford in arts program

    This summer, The Kentucky Center will host more than 200 eager young artists from every region of the commonwealth, as The Kentucky Center Governor’s School for the Arts (GSA) takes place at Danville’s Centre College from June 19 to July 9. Participating from Shelby County is Christopher Waford, of Collins High School, Musical Theatre.

    Ten outstanding high school seniors will be recognized and awarded by local McDonald’s restaurants of Kentuckiana owner/operators and Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kentuckiana (RMHCK) with one-time scholarships in the amount of $2,500 each in a ceremony held at the Greater Louisville Medical Society. Local student receiving a RMHC/scholarship was Abigail Betts from Shelby County High School and plans to attend the University of Louisville.
