• Schmuck graduates from Campellsville

    Matthew Edward Schmuckof Shelbyville received a bachelor of science in mass communication area. Schmuck is a graduate of Campbellsville High School in Campbellsville and is the son of Scott Schmuck of Shelbyville and Kim Hayes of Campbellsville.

    Jenkins graduates from UL

    Skyler D. Jenkins graduated from the University of Louisville in December Cum Laude with a degree of bachelor of science with a major in sports administration. He graduated from Ballard High School in Louisville in 2009, and is the son of Kathy Jenkins and the grandson of the late Clifford Farmer and Mary Lloyd Farmer of Shelbyville.

    “These are beautiful!” Chloe and I exclaimed as we unwrapped the gifts from Mr. B. He gave me a four-leaf clover he had “whittled” out of wood with his pocketknife. Chloe unwrapped a pretty little doll Mr. B. had made from corn shucks.

  • Cornerstone Christmas celebrations

    Cornerstone Elementary preschool students performed a prelude to the kindergarten through second grade musical blessing for family and friends under the direction of music teacher, Sonja Alvarado –‘Shepherds, Sheep and a Savior’


    Cornerstone Christian Academy hosts a Christmas dinner and silent auction. Each year local businesses provide decorated wreaths to contribute to the auction sales. The wreaths were judged in five categories.

    “That’s not blood, sweetheart,” Mom replied. “That’s marinara sauce. You and Chloe were upstairs clogging and you fell through the ceiling. You landed on the table, splashing up all the pizza and marinara sauce. Somewhere along the way, all four of your, uh, my shoes, fell off your paws. One shoe broke a dinner plate, another landed in the middle of a peach pie, and two of them are sticking out of the potted plant,” Mom said as Dad examined me.

    Spencerian academic excellence list

    Spencerian College announced that Jon Sandusky of New Castle has been placed on the spring/summer academic excellence list. Students are eligible for the Academic Excellence List when they achieve a 4.0 GPA and maintain a 12-hour minimum full-time status.

  • 4-H achievers honored

    4-H achievers were recognized at the Shelby County 4-H Achievement Banquet. Host and emcee Sarah Thornbury gave out the awards.
