    When Mr. Tom told us he couldn’t return us to our parents, my spirit sank. “I’d love to return you, but I’ve got a big load to retrieve from a packing plant!” he said. “It’s in the opposite direction from your parents’ house. We’re already several hours away from Grover’s. If I take you back to Grover’s, I’ll miss my deadline and lose that plant’s business.”

  • Students visit Oldham Arts Center

    The Collins High School chapter of Family, Career and Community Leaders of America attended the Region 6 fall meeting at the Oldham County Arts Center in Crestwood. Chapter officers participated in training, and new members attended a session. FCCLA is the only student led organization with the family as its central focus, and FCCLA provides ample opportunities for leadership and community service.

  • Cornerstone ‘Talk Like a Pirate’ day

    Students in Christina Hamon and Kara Allen’s kindergarten classes at Cornerstone Christian Academy dressed the part for national “Talk Like a Pirate” day.

  • Latino night at PSE

    More than 100 people attended Latino Night on Sept. 24 at Painted Stone Elementary. They enjoyed a meal, read together and learned how to improve literacy skills in the home. Heather Fallen, a teacher, reads to the students during the event.
