    Relay for Life meetings set

  • Joseph Trumbo (left) has been a member of the board of supervisors for the Shelby County Conservation District for 40 years, from 1975 to 2015.  He was chairman of the board from 1999 to 2003.  He has seen many changes to the conservation district and has promoted conservation in Shelby County for many years. He was recognized for his 40 years service to the Shelby County Conservation District at their annual meeting recently. Also pictured is Fred Rothenburger.

  • Mark and Jeannie Wilborn of Bagdad, announce the engagement of their daughter, Megan Marie Wilborn, to Kenneth Steven Bernardi, son of Kenneth and Sharon Bernardi of Louisville.

    She graduated from Jefferson Community College with an associate of the arts degree in 2006. She is employed at Republic Bank as a documentation preparation/disbursement manager and is currently residing in Louisville.

  • Airman Noah Stancik graduated from Air Force Basic Military Training at Lackland AFB, San Antonio, TX on March 18, 2016. He will train as crew chief for the Boeing KC-135 Stratotanker. He is the son of Kent and Trish Stancik of Shelbyville.

  • U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class Stetson Baird graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.

    The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness and basic warfare principles and skills. Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

  • ATime of My Life concert tour was held at Cornerstone Christian Academy on March 5. Popular contemporary Christian recording artists included The Afters, Chris August, Unspoken and Among the Thirsty performing for a crowd of nearly 600 guests.

    The Homemakers book club, meets at noon today at the Shelby County Extension office, 1117 Frankfort Road. Participants can bring their lunches and favorite books they have read to tell other club members about them and then take home a new book to read.
