  • Rev. William “Bill” and Lou George will celebrate 60 years of marriage on May 25, 2016.

    He is a retired minister, having served in Henderson, Hyden, Stanton, London, and 23 years at Highland Baptist Church in Shelbyville, during his ministry. He enjoys spending time outdoors, raising and training beagles.

    She is a retired teacher, having taught in Jefferson, Leslie, Powell, Laurel and Shelby counties. She enjoys reading and crafts.

  • Hugh and Paula Miles Breeden have been married 40 years. The couple was married May 22, 1976 at Tates Creek Christian Church in Lexington. 

    He had a 20-year career with Winn-Dixie Inc., and recently retired from F. B. Purnell Sausage Company with 27 years in sales. At his retirement, he was National Retail Sales Manager.

  • Major Art and Jean Edingerof Simpsonville announce the engagement of their daughter, Katie L. Edinger of Plano, Ill (formerly of Shelbyville), to Fred E. Cadena of Plano, Ill. He is the son of Fred M. Cadena and Francis Samame of El Paso, TX.

    She is senior public programs manager at DuPage Children's Museum.

    He is senior manager at Accenture Technology.

    The wedding will take place at 6 p.m. on Aug. 19 at Blue Harbor Resort, Sheboygan, WI.

  • William “Bill” and Glenna White Stivers will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception from 2 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday in the fellowship hall of Graefenburg Christian Church, given by their son, Mark Stivers (Cindy) and daughter Lisa Smith (Brooke) and their grandchildren, Abby and Elise Stivers, Ethan and Adam Smith.

    They were married May 20, 1966 at Graefenburg Christian Church by the brides’ uncle, Robert Watson.
