    Ann Lear and James McClain, both of Shelbyville, announce the engagement of their daughter, Amanda McClain of Shelbyville, to Mark Coots of Pleasureville. He is the son of Jeanie McCarty and Joseph Yocum, both of Shelbyville.

    She is a graduate of Stratford Career Institute.

    He is Shelby County High School graduate and owner of Lil Bit of MARK mechanic shop in Bethlehem.

    The wedding will take place at 2 p.m. Sept. 15, 2012.

    Kelly and Chris Cissell of Shelbyville announce the birth of a daughter on Feb. 27, 2012, at Baptist East Hospital Louisville. She has been named Olivia Masha Cissell.

    Grandparents are Rickie and Karen Jeffries of Mount Eden, Rose and Dave Wise of Shelbyville and Bill Cissell of Shelbyville. Great Grandparents are Peggy Richardson of Mount Eden, Walter and Peggy Jeffries of Waddy and Margie Austrew of Shelbyville.

    Collins High School student Sarah Eades (right) was elected state historian, and Jordan Goss, also of Collins, was elected state officer-at-large for Kentucky’s Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica. The election was conducted during the Spanish Honor Society Convention at West Jessamine County High School. Eades and Goss each will serve a 1-year term from 2012-13.

    Robin F. and Robert E. Vick III were married Sept. 3, 2011, at Country Plantation House in Greenville.

    Parent of the bride is Penny C. Reynolds of Waddy. The groom is the son of Robert and Debbie Vick Jr. of Greenville.

    The bride and groom both received a Bachelor of Science degrees in criminal justice from Eastern Kentucky University.

    Robin Vick works with the administrative office of the courts in Frankfort as a recovery coordinator, and Robert Vick is the owner of Robert Vick Photography, based in Richmond and Western Kentucky.

    Jim and Trish Fegenbush and Carolyn Douglas, all of Shelbyville, announce the engagement of their daughter, RaeAnne M. Douglas of Clarksville, Tenn., to Tom H. Pae of Clarksville.

    He is the son of Andrew and Angela Pae of Chandler, Ariz.

    Douglas, formerly of Shelbyville, is the daughter of the late Carl Ray “Buster” Douglas.

    They are both captains in the U.S. Army, currently assigned to the 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell.

    The wedding will take place at 5 p.m. April 7, 2012, at The Gillespie in Louisville.

    Koreena and Trever Bailey of Mount Eden announce the birth of their third child, a daughter, on Jan. 23, 2012, at Baptist East Hospital in Louisville. She has been named Kaleeah Marie Bailey. Grandparents are Wanda and Dave Shreckengost of Hernando, Fla., and Roy and Wanda Bailey of Shelbyville. Great-grandparent is Bessie Chowning of Shelbyville.


  • Armed forces news: Payton-Sewell graduates basic training

    Army Pvt. Ronnie R. Payton-Sewell has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla.

    Payton-Sewell earned distinction as an honor graduate and recently was promoted to the rank of private first class.

    He is the son of April V. Sewell of Shelbyville and Ronnie L. Payton of Frankfort. His wife, Shelly E. Sewell, is the daughter of Angela May of Frankfort.

    The private first class is a 2011 graduate of Franklin County High School.

    Kristen Quire and Scott Sanford of Frankfort announce the birth of their second child, a son, on Nov. 10, 2011 at Frankfort Regional Hospital. He has been named Malachi Scott Sanford. He was born at 9:20 p.m., weighing 4 pounds 5 ounces and 18 inches long. He has one brother, 22-month-old Isaiah.

    Grandparents are Lori and Davis Mason of Shelbyville, and Robin and Karen Quire of Bagdad; Sandra and Roy Ashcraft of Taylorsville, and Gregg Sanford of Shelbyville.
