    Brenyn Keith Botkins will celebrate his first birthday July 21, 2011.

    He is the son of Jeremy and Danielle Botkins of Bagdad.

    Grandparents are Dennis and Rhonda Hudspeth and Jennifer and Michael (Red) Harrod, all of Bagdad, and Keith and Melissa Botkins of Waddy. Great-grandparents are Jeanie Harmon and Ray Smith, both of Frankfort. Great-great-grandmother is Loula Robinson of Frankfort.

    Emma Elezabeth Palmer celebrated her first birthday June 29, 2011.

    She is the daughter of Mindy Palmer of Shelbyville.

    Grandparents are Michael W. and Diane Rose of Shelbyville and Mark Palmer of Frankfort. Great-grandparents are Ella and Arvin Palmer of Bethlehem and the late Maryann Gilreath.

    Kinleigh Faith Haggard celebrated her first birthday July 11, 2011.

    She is the daughter of Ashley Haggard and Eddie B. Gordon Jr., both of Shelbyville.

    Grandparents are Laddy and Lorie Haggard and JoAnn Gordon, all of Shelbyville, and Eddie B. Gordon and Barbara Ritchey, both of Bagdad. Great-grandparents are Charles Crenshaw of Taylorsville, Linda Crenshaw of Shelbyville, Cledith and JoAnn Hall of Lawrenceburg, Nancy Cornish of Mount Washington and Ella Curtsinger of Lawrenceburg.

  • 60th anniversary: Gallrein

    Bill and Dolores Gallrein of Shelbyville have been married for 60 years. The couple were married July 7, 1951.

    They will celebrate Saturday with friends and family.

    Bill Gillrein Jr., Michelle Block, both of Shelbyville, Laura Nelson of Brandenburg, and Gayle Butterman of Palm Coast, Fla., and eight grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

    Ralph and Joyce Clark will celebrate the 50th wedding anniversary on July10.

    The event, hosted by their children, will be at 2 p.m.-5 p.m. at Clayvillage Baptist Church in Clay Village.

    The couple requests no gifts but would appreciate cards with personal memories.

  • 50th anniversary

    Earl and Glenna Shuck were married June 27, 1961 in Shelby County and celebrate 50 years of marriage this week.

    They are the parents of Steve and Allen Shuck, and Robin Reynolds, all of Shelbyville, Diana Newlin and Loretta Stevens of Louisville and the late Wayne Shuck, founder of Shuck Fence Company in Shelbyville. They have seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

  • Army reserve grad

    Army Reserve Spec. Phillip T. Miller has graduated from Basic Combat Training at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla.

    During the nine weeks of training, Reserve Spec. Miller studied the Army mission and received instruction and training exercises in drill and ceremonies, Army history, core values and traditions, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, rifle marksmanship, weapons use, map reading and land navigation, foot marches, armed and unarmed combat and field maneuvers and tactics.

  • 84th birthday

    Doris Purvis Beller celebrated her 84th birthday on June 19 with her granddaughter Kerrie and husband Ken Howard. Celebrating with her was also Jeanene Purvis Rogers and Don Rogers, Joe and Denise Purvis, Ben and Pauline Purvis, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
