  • 60th anniversary: Roger and Aline Davis

    Roger and Aline Davis of Shelbyville were married Aug. 23, 1951, in New Albany, Ind.

    They have two sons, Robert, and his wife, Ellazane Davis, and Mike, and his wife, Kim, Davis; one grandson, Justin; step-grandson, Josh Cook and his wife, Amanda; and three step-great grandsons.

    They celebrated with a renewal ceremony in the presence of family and friends in the floral garden courtyard setting of Dawson Springs Health and Rehabilitation Center. Rev. Wes Curtis, employee of the center, officiated the ceremony.

  • Engagement: Roy-Booth

    Robin Frazier of Shelbyville and Gary and Sharon Roy of Russell Springs announce the engagement of their daughter, Hannah Lynn Roy of Shelbyville, to Shane Allen Booth of Shelbyville. He is the son of Lee Ann Rogers of Shelbyville and Jerry Booth of Waddy.

    Roy is a 2005 graduate of Shelby County High School and is a preschool teacher for Dorman Preschool Center.

    Booth is a 2005 graduate of Shelby County High School and is a computer technician for Shelby County Public Schools.

    The wedding will take place at 4 p.m. Saturday at Gallrein Farms.

  • Potter wedding

    Lacy Stauffer and Larry Potter Jr. were married Aug. 4, 2011, at Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort. Officiating the ceremony was Rev. Jeff Edington.

    Parents of the bride are Robert and Linda Edington of Shelbyville. The groom is the son of Sandra Potter of Shelbyville and the late Larry Potter Sr.

    Best men were Brandon Potter and Tyler Potter, both of Shelbyville and both sons of the groom.

    The couple went to Gulf Shores, Ala., for their honeymoon and will reside in Shelbyville.

  • I'm one: Easton Michael Martin Kost

    Easton Michael Martin Kost celebrated his first birthday Aug. 4, 2011.

    He is the son of Jonathon and Kimberly Kost formerly of Shelbyville.

    Grandparents are Buck and Pam Woods of Shelbyville, Marvin and Linda Kost of Corydon, Ind.

    Great-grandparents are Myrtle Woods of Shelbyville and the late Clay and Betty Lee Melear, Helburn Woods, Harry and Elizabeth Kost, and Cecil and Virgie Lanham

  • Birth: Roberts son

    Ronesha R. Roberts of Shelbyville and Tremont Campbell of Louisville announce the birth of their first child, a son, on Aug. 5, 2011, at Norton Hospital. He has been named Zacchaeus Monjoi Roberts.

    Grandparents are Willie and Florence Roberts of Eminence and Eunice Campbell of Louisville.

    Great-grandparents are Ada Beach, Owen Spencer, Martha Roberts, all of Shelbyville.

  • 50th anniversary: Morris

    Paul and Linda Morris of Shelbyville have been married for 50 years. The couple was married on Sept. 4, 1961, at the home of the bride.

    After serving with the National Guard, Paul Morris was employed at Ford Motor Company, from which he retired after 20 years of service. Linda Morris, formerly Linda Lafollette, is a homemaker.

    They are active members of Salem Baptist Church and have three children, Paul David Morris, Kim Smither and Roy Lee Morris; three grandchildren, Brandon, Jacob and Ayden; and three step- grandchildren, Colin, Ethan and Kerry.

  • Armed Force news: Airman Thomas Wyatt

    Air Force Airman Thomas M. Wyatt graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. He completed an 8-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills. Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force. Wyatt graduated in 2008 from Cornerstone Christian School in Shelbyville.

  • Engagement: Cook-Ramage

    Bobby and Linda C. Cook of Bowling Green announce the engagement of their daughter, Allison Casey Cook, to David Shane Ramage. She is the granddaughter of Bonnie I. Casey and Evelyn Catlett of Shelbyville. He is the son of Gary and Terri Ramage and grandson of JoAnn Yates, all of Paducah.

    Cook is a 1996 graduate of Bowling Green High School and a 2000 graduate of the University of Kentucky, receiving a bachelor of science degree in marketing. She is currently vice president of Brand Development and Marketing at Churchill Downs in Louisville.

  • Engagement: Reynolds-Vick

    Penny C. Reynolds of Waddy announces the engagement of her daughter, Robin Faye Reynolds, to Robert Edward Vick III of Richmond. He is the son of Robert and Debbie Vick of Greenville.

    Reynolds is a 2004 graduate of Shelby County High School and a 2007 graduate of Eastern Kentucky University, with a bachelor of science degree in criminal justice. She is a program supervisor of Franklin County drug court working for the Administrative Office of the Courts.
