  • Birth: Brown son

    Chris and Jessica Brown of Shelbyville announce the birth of their son on Jan. 8, 2013 at Baptist Hospital East. He has been named William Robert Brown. Born at 12:52 p.m., he weighed 6 pounds and 3 ounces and was 18.5 inches long.

    Grandparents are Todd and Joyce Bender of Brownsburg, Ind.; Jeff and Beth Brown of Shelbyville.

    Great-grandparents are Bob and Ruth Ann Webb, Phil and Mary Bender, Jan Stull, Jim and Marie Proffitt.

    Melissa Susan Millerand Eric Burch Kinsolving of Murfreesboro, Tenn., were married Oct. 13, 2012, in Shelbyville.

    Parents of the bride are Susan Schendera Miller and Wilburn Miller Jr. of Nicholasville. The groom is the son of Paula Varney Kinsolving of Frankfort and Burch Kinsolving of Shelbyville.

    Rev. Josh Raybornofficiated the ceremony.

    The bride was given in marriage by her father, Wilburn Miller Jr.

    Jona Luttrelland Josh Chisholm, both of Shelbyville, were married Aug. 25, 2012, at Highland Baptist Church in Louisville.

    Parents of the bride are John and Janet Luttrell of Shelbyville. The groom is the son of Lonnie and Donna Chisholm of Pleasureville and Toby and Royetta Wardrip of Louisville.

    Rev. Jim Cavender officiated the double-ring ceremony.

    The bride was given in marriage by her father.

    Maids of honor were Melissa Luttrell of Louisville and Lauren Luttrell of Shelbyville, sisters of the bride.

    Dawn Renae Dixon and Chris Cook of Shelbyville announce the birth of their daughter on Dec. 12, 2012, at Norton Suburban Hospital in Louisville. She has been named Channing Noelle Cook. Born at 7:27 p.m., she weighed 7 pounds and six ounces and was 20 inches long.

    Grandparents are Tom and Bernice Dixon of Shelbyville), Larry and Cindy Roberts of Eastwood, Willie and Nadine Cook of Shelbyville.

  • 60th anniversary: Quire

    John and Loretta Quire of Shelbyville have been married for 60 years and will celebrate their anniversary this week. They have five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. After retiring from General Electric, John Quire has continued to paint homes, and Loretta Quire is active in quilting, needlepoint and cooking for her large family every Saturday.

    Justin Johnson of Troop 470 earned the rank of Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America on Dec. 11, 2012. Justin's eagle project was a construction project with the Kitty Cottage on 7th Street in Shelbyville. Justin is a sophomore at Collins High School and is the son of Bill and Laura Johnson of Shelbyville.

    Parents of the bride are the late Gene and Pat Morse. She is the granddaughter of Betty Ryan of Shelbyville and the late Otto Ryan, the late Alvin and Louise Morse, and the late Lindsey Cornelius. The groom is the son of Ted and Ingrid DeLaetof Omaha, Neb.
