  • Birth: Roberts son

    Tim and Jessica Roberts of Pleasureville announce the birth of their son on June 25, 2012 at Central Baptist of Lexington. He was born at 8:23 p.m. weighing 7 pounds and 12 ounces and was 19 inches in length. He has been named Timothy James Roberts III.

    Grandparents are Mark A. Travis of Taylorsville, Tina B. Travis, of Pleasureville, Tim Roberts of Sugar Grove, Ohio, Elaine Roberts of Williamstown.

  • Engagement: Kleymeyer-Davis

    Chris and Katy Kleymeyer of Shelbyville announce the engagement of their daughter, Tiffany Kleymeyer, to Joseph Kegan Davis. 

    He is the son of John and Julie Davis of Elizabethtown. 

    She graduated from the Kent School of Social Work at University of Louisville in May 2011 and is employed with the state’s Child Protective Service and is working towards her master’s of social work at U of L. 

  • Shelbyville resident promoted

    Shelbyville resident Luwanda Knuckles, a human resource specialist with the Kentucky National Guard, has been promoted to sergeant.

    Knuckles is preparing for deployment to Afghanistan with Agribusiness Development Team 5.  She is a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom and has been in the Kentucky National Guard for nine years.

    "I'm very excited to be promoted," Knuckles said.  "Outside of my son being born, this is the happiest day of my life!"

  • 101st birthday

    Edna Black Devers will celebrate her 101st birthday this weekend at the Masonic Home Shelbyville. Devers, who was born and has lived her entire life in Shelby County, will have a reception from 2-4 p.m. Sunday in the Garden Café. Friends are welcome. Devers has three children, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren and was recognized by Governor Steve Beshear with the Kentucky Colonel award.

  • Engagement: Milroy-Hardin

    Michael and Ellen Muscara of Nicholasvilleannounce the engagement of their daughter, Amanda C. Milroy of Lawrenceburg, to Jeffrey S. Hardin of Lawrenceburg. He is the son of Kenneth and Berttye Hardin of Lawrenceburg.

    The wedding will take place at 3:30 p.m. Nov. 10, 2012, at First Christian Church, 316 Ann St. in Frankfort.

    Shelby County native and former Kentucky Gov.     Kickoff breakfast

    The Shelbyville Horse Show Jubilee kick off breakfast will be at 7:30 a.m. July 26 at Undulata Farm. Ann-Blair Thornton, 2011 Miss Kentucky, will be the keynote speaker. Tickets are available at the offices at 316 Main St. in Shelbyville.

  • More baby winners at fair

    The winners of the 6- to 12-month-old baby show at the Shelby County Fair were Maiya Payton, daughter of Jennifer Payton; and Aiden Roberts, son of Amber and Ryan Roberts.

  • Birth: June 10, 2012

    Becky Foley and Simon Fink of Saint Joseph, Mo., announce the birth of their first child, a son, on June 10, 2012, at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Saint Joseph. He has been named Julius Hart Foleyfink.

    Grandparents are Darwin and Shirley Foley of Shelbyville and Leon Fink and Susan Levine of Chicago.  Great-grandparents are Mary Whitehouse of Danville, Irv and Bea Fink of Indianapolis, the late J.H. Whitehouse and Harry and Julia Levine of Chicago.
