    Masonic Home of Shelbyville hosted an Easter egg hunt for employees and their families, neighbors and volunteers. More than 100 children searched for more than 700 eggs, packed with coins and goodies by Masonic Home residents. Masonic Home Executive Debra Finneran (in bunny ears) served refreshments to guests.

  • Birth: Perry son

    Aimee and Jamie Perry of Eminence, announce the birth of their third child, a son, on Jan. 25, 2013, at Norton Hospital Louisville. He has been named Eligh David Perry.

    He was born at 10:18 a.m., weighing 6 pounds and 5 ounces, and 18.5 inches long. He has two old siblings, 7-year-old Ryan and 4-year-old Nickolas.

    Grandparents are Nikki and Denny Bailey of Shelbyville, Martha and G.W. Perry of Eminence.

    Great-grandparents are Mary "Nick" Smith of Shelbyville, Charlotte Bailey of Magnolia.

  • Bingo at Crescent Place

    Crescent Place Assisted Living hosted a breakfast bingo to raise money for the American Cancer Society. Together the clients and guests raised more than $1,200 for the cause. Howard (left) and Marcella Abbott checked their card for a  winner.

    Stephen and Amanda Drawbaugh of Shelbyville announce the birth of their second child, a son, on Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013, at Suburban Hospital, Louisville. He has been named Isaiah Luke Drawbaugh.

    Grandparents are Ricky and Nancy Drawbaugh, Debbie Humphrey, all of Shelbyville and David Bohannon of Finchville.

    Great-grandparents are Freeman and Dorothy Lyons of Pleasureville, Homer and Janice Clem of Athens, Ala., Hallie Bohannon of Finchville and Simon and Margaret Humphrey of Shelbyville.

    Brax Westin Berry celebrated his first birthday on Jan. 27, 2013.

    He is the son of Jessica and Buddy Berry of Eminence.

    Grandparents are Dale and Vickie Wesley of Bagdad and Skip and Joyce Berry of Eminence. Great-grandparents are Kenneth and Orvilyne Gumm of Somerset, Ben Wesley of Somerset and Claude and Spencer Berry of Eminence.

    Heritage Elementary hosted a Colonial Family Night, when students showcased what they had learned in class about that era.

  • Engagement: Ellis-Skoczenski

    Gilda and John W. Ellis of Shelbyville announce the engagement of their daughter, Shelby Elizabeth Ellis to Marine Corps Capt. Eric Joffre Skoczenski Esq. He is the son of Robert and Parise Skoczenski of Saco, Maine.

    Ellis is a 2002 graduate of Shelby County High School and a 2005 graduate of Gettysburg (Pa.) College. She is a special agent with the Department of Defense.

  • Jones graduates basic training

    Army Pvt. Timothy M. Jones has graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning in Columbus, Ga.

    Jones is the son of Charles Lee Davis of Narrow Gage Pike in Eminence and the grandson of Linda Murphy and Charles Davis, both of Shelbyville. He is a 2011 graduate of Shelby County High School.

    Crescent Place Assisted Living had its annual valentine’s party on Feb. 14 and crowned the king and queen and the valentine couple. The 2013 king (from left) was Dudley Scearce, queen was Bobbye McCarthy and the Valentine couple was Martha and Ray Quire.
