    Tiffany Renee Bohannon and Brian Eugene Newman were married March 16, 2013, at Michael and Donna Bohannon’s barn.

    Parents of the bride are Michael and Donna Bohannon of Shelbyville. The groom is the son of Dale and Patricia Newman of Shelbyville.

    Rev. David Robinson officiated the single-ring ceremony.

    The bride was given in marriage by her father.

    Maid of honor was Casey Bohannon of Shelbyville, sister-in-law of the bride.

    Best man was Chris Bohannon of Shelbyville, brother-in-law of the groom.

  • Birth: Butler daughter

    Kevin and Anna Butler of Smithfield announce the birth of their second child, a daughter, on July 29, 2013, at Baptist East Louisville. She has been named Emily Peyton Butler.

    She was born at 8:46 p.m., weighing 7 pounds and 7.6 ounces, and was 20 inches long. Her older sibling is 2-year-old Gavin.

    Grandparents are Jim and Lynn Hobbs of Shelbyville and Colette Sloss of Hatfield, Pa.

  • 50th anniversary: S.K. and Barbara Zimmerman

    S.K. and Barbara Zimmerman of Shelbyville have been married for 50 years. The couple was married on Sept. 29, 1963, in Jacksonville, Ill.

    They have one daughter, Debbie Zimmerman of Indianapolis, and one son, Kelly (Michelle) Zimmerman of Shelbyville. Their grandchildren are Tyler, Sarah and Zach Zimmerman.

    They will celebrate with family and friends with an open house. All friends and relatives are invited.

  • Larkin receives Army commendation

    U.S. Army Spec. 4 Noble Lee Larkin was awarded the Army Commendation Medal for heroism in combat against Afghan insurgents while serving with the 125th Transportation Company. He is the son of Robert and Nikki Larkin of Shelbyville and GeorgeAnn Tucker of Lexington and grandson of Georgia D. Bryant of Lexington.

    Doug and Carrie Robertsof Carthage, Mo., announce the birth of their third child, a son, at 11:01 a.m. on July 8, 2013 at Mercy McCune Brooks Hospital in Carthage, Mo. He has been named Ethan Gregory Roberts.

    He weighed 8 pounds and 2 ounces and was 21.25 inches long. He has two older sisters, 4-year-old Hope and 1-year-old Jordan.

  • Engagement: Dempsey-Maddox

    Linda and Bobby Jamison and Danny Joe Dempsey, all of Shelbyville, announce the engagement of their daughter, Crystal Ann Dempsey of Shelbyville, to Richard Scott Maddox of Louisville. He is the son of Christina Maddox of Louisville and John and Joyce Maddox of Richmond, Ind.

    She is a co-owner/groomer of Fuzzy Dog Salon LLC in Shelbyville. He is a Landscaper for Billingsely Lawn Care in Bagdad.

    The wedding will take place at 1:30 p.m. on Oct. 19, 2013.

    Lisa and Ken Phillips of Simpsonvilleannounce the engagement of their daughter, Dawn Phillips of Louisville, to Keith Morhet II of Louisville. He is the son of Keith and Toni Morhet of Benton, Ill.

    She attended Faces by KLM Studio of Makeup Design and is a freelance makeup artist.

    He is received his degree in advertising at Murray State University and works with Anheuser Busch.

    The wedding will take place at 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 26, 2013, in Gatlinburg, Tenn.

    Shelia and Jamie Ashley were married June 1, 2013, at Waddy Christian Church.

    Parents of the bride are Betty and Robert L. Gaines of Waddy. The groom is the son of Rosie Ashley of Louisville and Sheila and Freddy Wirth of Louisville.

    Tina Glossin of Waddy Christian Church officiated the ceremony. A reception was held in the fellowship hall of the church.

    The couple went to Myrtle Beach, S.C., for a honeymoon and will reside in Louisville.

  • 50th anniversary: Sandra Bell and Hansel Hill Jr.

    Sandra Bell and Hansel Hill Jr. of Graefenburg have been married for 50 years. The couple was married on Sept. 20, 1963, at the Graefenburg Christian Church by Rev. George Watson.

    Their children are Angela Turton (Ralph) of Frankfort, Daymond Reed Hill (Jane) of Winter Garden, Fla.; and grandchildren are D.J., Lily, Bella, Emmy Hill and Tori Turton.
