    Parents, Don and Karen Lisby of Finchvilleand grandparents, William and Linda Jennings of Shelbyvilleannounce the engagement of their daughter/granddaughter, Krista M. Brown of Pleasureville to Dustin Perry of Lawrenceburg. He is the son of Tim and Sherry Perry of Lawrenceburg.

    She is a 2004 Shelby County High School and a 2010 University of Kentucky College of Agriculture graduate. She is currently employed as a 4-H Youth Development Agent.

    He is a 2003 Graduate of Anderson County High School and is self-employed.

    Glenn and Sharon Davis of Louisville announce the engagement of their daughter Natalie Marie Davis to Chad Bingham Willis of Bowling Green.

    She is the granddaughter of Howard Davis, and step-grandmother, Barbara Davis, both of Hendersonville, Tenn., the late June and Virginia Davis and the late Dorothy Davis.

    He is the son of Tony and Angie Willis of Bowling Green, and the grandson of Laymon and Mary Willis of Richardsville, and Hilda Bingham of Elkton and the late Bill Bingham.

    Mike and Karen Jeffries of Pleasureville, announce the engagement of their daughter, Samantha Kaye Jeffries of Louisville to Joshua Carl Gamblin of Louisville.

    She is the granddaughter of the late O.L. and Annie Jeffries, and the late Johnny and Exie Harrod.

    He is the son of Calvin and Sandra Gamblin of Nortonville; and grandson of the late Joe and Pricilla Cunningham, and the late Carl Gamblin and Wilma Noffsinger.

    James Barnes of Waddy and Myrna Cornish of Lebanon Junction announce the engagement of their daughter, Tanya M. Laws to Earl Allen Marshall Jr., both of Shelbyville. He is the son of Earl and Barbara Marshall of Shelbyville.

    She is a 1996 graduate of Shelby County High School and is self-employed in home health.

    He is 1989 graduate of Shelby County High School and is a self-employed private investigator.

    The wedding will take place at 4 p.m., June 21, 2014, at Clay Street Baptist Church.

    All friends and family are invited.

  • Corpus Christi students join New Breed

    New Breed, the hometown band, performed at the Corpus Christi music fest on the Simpsonville Park grounds. Students joined the band as they performed.

  • History buffs learn about the dead

    Members of the Shelby County Historical Society heard Stories Behind the Stones at Grove Hill Cemetery for its May 22 program. They walked a brief distance to see stones that had been restored, while seeing the monuments of several individuals, including Julia Tevis, founder of Science Hill School, and Josephus Wilson, one of the three landowners involved in the formation of the cemetery.

    Cornerstone Christian Academy’s prom was held in Eminence. The evening began with a red carpet entrance and ended with a surprise fireworks show. The junior class organized the event.
