Brandon and Samantha Bradley of Shelbyville announce the birth of their first child, a son, on Sept. 24, 2012, at Norton Suburban Hospital in Louisville. He has been named Joseph Dale Bradley.

Grandparents are Steve and Rhonda Bradley of Shelbyville and Brent and Teri Walters of La Grange.

Great-grandparents are Don and Sue Bradley of Shelbyville, Tommy and Ruth West of Ashland and Janice McGhee of Columbus, Ohio.

Air Force Airman Taylor W. Matthews graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

He completed an 8-week program and also earned four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Matthews is the son of Kim Matthews of Shelbyville and a 2009 graduate of Shelby County High School.

Howard and JoAnn Shewmaker Shelburne of Simpsonville have been married for 50 years. The couple was married on Nov. 2, 1962, by Howard Shelburne’s brother, Rev. Ivan Shelburne, at Taylorsville Christian Church.

They have one son, Troy Shelburne, who is married to Dana, and one daughter, Melissa Todd and who is married to Jason Todd. All of them live in Taylorsville. They also have five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
