    Fiona Young-Brown, of Lexington, will sign copies of her cookbook, “A Culinary History of Kentucky: Burgoo, Beer Cheese & Goetta,” from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Kentucky Artisan Center at Berea.

    Quilt show during Bagdad Day

    A quilt show will be held in conjunction with Bagdad Day from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the sanctuary of Bagdad Baptist Church. The show will include demonstrations throughout the day and an opportunity to quilt on a frame.     The Kentucky Artisan Center at Berea invites Kentucky artisans to submit works for the exhibit “Put a Lid on It: Containers by Kentucky Artisans” to be held Sept. 13, 2014 through Feb. 28, 2015.

    The Shelby County Community Theatre will perform Larry Shue’s The Foreigner April 17-19 and 25-26 at 7:30 p.m. and April 27 at 2:30 p.m. The Foreigner is directed by Dr. Jack Wann, and sponsored by Martinrea Heavy Stampings, Inc. and Village Plaza Shopping Center. Tickets are $15 adults, $12 seniors, and $10 students. For reservations, call 502-633-0242 after April 3. The theatre is located at 801 Main Street in Shelbyville.

    The Hepburn Girls, an independent film shot in and around Shelby County – locations include Tracy's Home Furniture, Science Hill Dining Room, Sixth and Main Coffeehouse and Grove Hill Cemetery – and including Shelby County actors will have a 1-time, encore screening on Sunday.

    You can see the film, written and produced by Ashley Raymer-Brown and Rachael Yeager – at 3 p.m. at the Village 8 theaters on Dutchman's Lane in Louisville.
