Terrence Keo, in Sarah Beth Gomelsky’s class at Heritage Elementary, was figuring out definitions, sentences and pictures for a list of words, like strife. Tablemate Bradlee Pentecost was reading quietly and using post-it notes to write down questions or “my thinking, like why didn’t June do anything about them calling her names and bullying her.” He said he thinks the character in the book Amazing Adventures of Ordinary Girls should have told the teacher or the principal because “in the story, she’s starting to believe she is weird like the kids say.”
