A community-wide worship service and a special screening of a movie will commemorate Martin Luther King Day in Shelby County this year.
The service will be held at St. John United Methodist Church at 1 p.m.
Kilen Gray, chair of the Shelby Ministerial Coalition, said the service is the coalition’s way of honoring King and that he wants to invite the entire community to the gathering.
“We encourage all churches, their members and friends to come and be a part of this time of worship,” he said.
