A Louisville woman was injured in a single-vehicle accident Monday afternoon on I-64 that left traffic backed up for several hours.
Lauren Walter, 19, was traveling east on I-64 near Waddy just after 2 p.m. when she apparently lost control of her vehicle and went off the road. Her 2001 Nissan ended up back in the middle of the interstate flipped on its top. According to a sheriff's report, Walter apparently crawled out of the vehicle to search for a cat that had been in the car with her.
Walter was taken to Frankfort Regional Medical Center.
