Woman injured in crash in northwest Shelby

A Crestwood woman was injured Friday afternoon in a car crash in northwest Shelby County.

Lisa Brown, 54, was traveling westbound on Aiken Road, when she ran off the roadway and overturned her vehicle.

Simpsonville Assistant Fire Chief Ronnie Sowder said that Brown told him that she was trying to avoid a large truck that was coming toward her.

Alcohol/drugs are not suspected as a factor in the crash.

Firefighters extricated Brown from her car at about 2:30 p.m., he said. She was taken to  the University of Louisville Hospital.
