Winters last hurrah?

Schools released early, people made their way to the grocery to stock up on food as their car radios informed them of the city's fate.

No, it wasn't Armageddon, but it was the winter's heaviest snow of the year.

On Friday, the snow fell, and fell, and city crews went to work trying to clear the roads. It was a task they'd continue throughout the weekend.

According to the National Weather Service, 10 to 12 inches fell around the county, with drifting in some areas raising inches to feet.
