"John James Audubon" brought containers of frogs, minnows and salamanders to Chris Vegh's class at Painted Stone Elementary. Dressed in buckskin clothing, Audubon (aka Mike Strohm), the famous wildlife artist, taught children about the natural habitats of Kentucky in an art lesson that will lead to drawings to be displayed at the Miller Environmental Center at Red Orchard Park. He and Vegh used pastels to adorn each child's face with green stripes, to signify the symbol of peace as they worked in groups to handle the specimens he had brought.
