Host Western Hills pounded out 15 hits – and used a pair of 4-run innings – to topple the Shelby County softball team, 11-3, Tuesday in Frankfort.
The Wolverines (3-7) got off to a good start, scoring four runs in the bottom of the first inning, and kept on rolling against the Rockets (5-9).
Freshman Sydney Wright and seventh-grader Hannah Webb accounted for half of Shelby County’s hits, with two each.
The Rockets, who were scheduled to host Collins on Thursday evening, will play in the Capital City Classic in Frankfort on today and Saturday.
