Volunteers are driving force

Since 1917 the American Red Cross has been a presence in Shelby County. From the very first meeting of local leaders, volunteers have been the driving force behind the American Red Cross.

Ninety-one years later we are still here thanks to the generosity of our volunteers.

The Shelby County Red Cross is very fortunate to have individuals willing to donate their time and talents to make a difference in our community. These individuals donate their time to help teach lifesaving skills, help individuals prepare for disasters, provide assistance to victims of disaster, teach health living skills to youth, assist individuals at blood drives and provide leadership to continue to meet the needs of individuals and businesses in Shelby County.

While the volunteers are too numerous to individually thank in this letter, we would like to collectively thank everyone for their help. These dedicated individuals have donated over 600 hours of service in the last twelve months to help our community prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies. Their dedication to making a difference in Shelby County is greatly appreciated.

Thank you to each and every Red Cross volunteer, past and present, for being a hero everyday!
