The Lady Rockets moved to 18-5 on the season by beating North Bullitt and Henry County.
The girls coasted by North Bullit,t 2-0 (25-14, 25-19), at home Tuesday and held off Henry County, 2-1 (20-25, 25-13, 27-25), on the road last Thursday.
“The North Bullitt match was a good win to help lead us into our upcoming tournament,” SCHS Coach Felicia Pace said. “The win wasn’t as strong as I had wanted, but I will gladly accept it.”
Pace stressed the significance of momentum as the Lady Rockets prep for the 28th District Tournament at Eminence beginning Oct. 12.
“It is important to have big wins as we enter our post season play so that we can prepare for teams that will push our limits,” she said. “Capitalizing on leads is important to our play our ability to win matches.”
The Henry County match-up could be a preview of the district finals.
The Lady Rockets will play Eminence in the opener, and Henry will face Anderson County.
“Henry County match was a preview to what district will bring,” she said. “They always seem to step up to the plate when on the court with us. We had to battle to keep the favor on our side, and the girls played a fantastic match for the win.”
