On Nov. 8-9, Shelby East Middle seventh grade students attended the 7th annual Night at the Museum in Chicago. Students were able to explore and spend the night in the Museum for Science and Industry, and were able to visit the Field Museum, which houses Sue, the world’s most complete T-Rex skeleton. The group stopped to take a photo at “The Bean,” the famous piece of art in Millennium Park. Students also visited the Willis Tower to view Chicago from the 103rd floor. Both the Field Museum and the Museum for Science and Industry support the Kentucky Common Core Standards with their exhibits of Egyptian culture, Force and motion, Kinetic and potential energy and the science of storms. The students had fun while learning with hands-on activities.
