Two men have been charged with wanton endangerment after an incident in which several people say their lives were threatened, police say.

Cody S. Ogden, 19, and Dalton  K. Patterson, 18, both of Shelbyville, are charged with first-degree wanton endangerment after an incident Tuesday at Indian Ridge Apartments.

The report says that the pair was involved in a fight with several others in the apartment complex’s breezeway and ran when police arrived.

The police report said that several residents stated that Dalton threatened them with a knife and that Ogden pointed a gun at them. When officers found Ogden hiding in a backyard, he led them to where he had thrown a gun into some bushes.

Both are also charged with menacing, trespassing, fleeing and evading police and alcohol intoxication.

They are lodged in the Shelby County Detention Center under a $5,000 cash bond. Court dates have not yet been set.
