Traffic checkpoints coming up

Motorists will soon be seeing more traffic safety checkpoints being conducted by Kentucky State Police.

Troop Ron Turley with KSP media relations said the locations for these safety checkpoints are determined by need. KSP conducted one such checkpoint on U.S. 60 at Fields Lane, east of Simpsonville, on Tuesday night. No statistics were available for that evening.

“We generally pick high accident areas, because this is where the need is most urgent,” he said.
