Titans show their true stuff

Wednesday night was the game that Collins boys’ basketball coach Chris Gaither had been waiting to see from his Titans.

Collins topped host and eighth-ranked Scott County, 61-54, in the first round of the Toyota Classic in Georgetown.

“I think we saw our guys come alive on defense,” Gaither said. “We came together as a team and said, ‘Let’s play defense, and let’s get stops.’

“It was the best team defense we’ve played all year.”
