Tipton to play baseball for UK

Tyler Tipton, a 2011 graduate of Collins and a sophomore at Itawamba (Miss.) Community College, has committed to play baseball for the University of Kentucky.

“Officially a Wildcat! Just committed to play at UK next year!” Tipton tweeted on Sunday.

Tipton, a shortstop, hit .257 with seven doubles, one home run, 19 RBIs, scored 26 runs and had a team-high 11 stolen bases in helping the Indians to a 39-13 record and a berth in the semifinals of the National Junior College Athletic Association Region 23 tournament.
