Thompson marches in presidential inaugural parade

William R. Thompson, a Virginia Military Institute cadet from Shelby County, was among the approximately 1,500 who marched in this year's presidential inaugural parade.
View MapVMI’s Corps of Cadets marched from the U.S. capitol to the reviewing stand at the White House. The corps was the final group in the parade, passing the president in review at about 6:30 p.m.
Thompson is the son of Jean Shy of Shelbyville.
