A 32-year-old man died Friday after driving off the I-64 Interstate east at the Hooper Station Road overpass and striking the overpass bridge support under construction there.
Jason E. Diehl, ofMidlothian, Texas, was the only occupant of a 2004 Ford F-350 pickup. According to a Shelby County sheriff's report, Diehl was not wearing a seatbelt. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Shelby County coroner's office. Deputy Rick Meadows is investigating the cause of the accident.
