Each year during the legislative session, the state honors teachers who have achieved National Board Certification, and this year Gov. Steve Beshear has taken it one step further.
Beshear signed a proclamation declaring Tuesday as Kentucky National Board Teacher Day.
Joe Myers, acting secretary of the Education and Workforce Development Cabinet, sent a letter of congratulation to each of the 2009 National Board Certified teachers and invited them to the 2010 recognition even, which will be held in the rotunda at the capitol at 1 p.m. Tuesday.
