Collins-West Middle Sports Fair
There will be a Collins-West Middle Sports Fair from 6-8:30 p.m. tonight at Titans Stadium. You’ll be able to meet coaches from both schools, get tryout and camp information as well as sports physical forms. There will also be representatives from area youth leagues, wellness and fitness programs and summer sports camps. Former University of Kentucky basketball player, and author, Mark Krebs will also be on hand.   
Realtors golf scramble
The 2011 Shelbyville Board of Realtors Golf Scramble, which benefits its scholarship fund, is Saturday at the Shelbyville Country Club. Check in, lunch and practice is 11:30 a.m. and shotgun start for 18 holes is 1:30 p.m. The cost is $75 per player. For more info call, Shawn Willard 502-553-1880 or Nancy Edwards 633-3335.
2011 Jim Wiley Baseball Camp
The 2011 Jim Wiley Baseball Camp will take place June 6-10 at Clear Creek Park. The camp, for ages 7-18, will be held from 9 a.m. until noon daily. Cost is $40 per camper or $70 for two campers. Camp highlights include individual instructions from Jim Wiley, an associate scout for the New York Yankees and coach of Shelbyville American Legion Baseball; Roy Bailey, a former player in the St. Louis Cardinals organization, the Shelbyville American Legion pitching coach and the head coach of Collins High; Kyle Wiley, a former shortstop for the University of Southeastern Louisiana; and Donnie Williams, the former coach at Shelby County High. Campers, who will be grouped according to age and ability, will be taught proper fundamentals and also receive a t-shirt. In case of bad weather the camp will be moved to an indoor facility. Basketball shooting camp June 6-10
There will be a basketball shooting camp June 6-10 at West Middle School gymnasium. Boys and girls currently in the fifth and sixth grades will be held from 4-6 p.m., while boys and girls in the seventh and eighth grades will be held from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Coaching will be done by the coaches, and former players, at West Middle. Basic shooting fundamentals, as well as proper mechanics of the jump shot and free throw shooting, will be covered. Cost is $60 per session and all proceeds go to the West Middle basketball program. June tennis clinic
Learn America’s fastest growing sports. The Shelby County Parks Department has beginner and intermediate clinics for youth and adults. The first four-week session begins June 7. Clinics are Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Registration forms are available at the FAC, the Pro Shop or at www.shelbycountyparks.com.
Collins boys’ basketball camp
The Collins Titans Summer Basketball Camp will take place June 13-16 at Collins High School. The camp, for grades 1-9, will run from 8:30-11:30 a.m. The camp will be conducted by the Collins boys’ basketball coaching staff and players. Fundamentals will be stressed along with competition in free throws, “hot shots,” ball-handling and 3-on-3. The cost is $50 if received by June 10. Late registration is $60. Timberwolves tryouts
The Timberwolves, a local sixth grade registered AAU basketball team that plays in local and regional tournaments, is having tryouts at 7:30 p.m. June 8 at Whitney M. Young Job Corps. Registration begins at 7 p.m. Player age and grade requirements: Players must have been in the sixth grade as of Oct. 1, 2010 and be 12- or 13-years old, or in the seventh grade as of Oct. 1, 2010 and born on, or after, Sept. 1, 1998. Rockets basketball camps June 13-15
Shelby County will hold its boys’ and girls’ basketball camps June 13-15 at SCHS. The camp is for ages kindergarten through eighth-grade. The cost is $45. The girls’ camp will run from 9 a.m. until noon. The boys’ camp, which will feature former Shelby County star A.J. Moorman golf scramble
The Marnel C. Moorman Sr. Family Life Center Inc. golf scramble begins at 8 a.m. June 24 at Weissinger Hills Golf Course. Pre-register by June 14. Proceeds will benefit scholarships and other. Titans' girls' basketball camp
The Titans Girls' Basketball Camp will be June 20-22 at Collins High School. The camp is for ages kindergarten through eighth-grade. The cost is $45. The camp, which will run from 9 a.m. until noon, will emphasize the fundamentals of basketball. Campers will participate in individual skill drills, 3-on-3 games and 5-on-5 games. Calipari basketball camp at CAL
University of Kentucky men’s basketball coach John Calipari is hosting a one-day basketball camp with his staff June 23 at Christian Academy of Louisville. The camp is open to boys and girls in kindergarten through 12th grade and the fee is
$75 per child. There will be a morning session (9 a.m. until noon) and an afternoon session (1-4 p.m.). Campers will learn basketball skills through an intensive hands-on instructional environment, and will be taught techniques that can be further honed at home. Campers will receive a Kentucky basketball t-shirt and will have opportunities for autographs and photographs with the players and staff. Shelby Christian tennis camp
The Shelby Christian Tennis Camp will be June 27-July 1 for 4-5-year-olds and 9-11-year-olds. There are still limited openings. Registration forms are available at www.shelbychristian.org or call Dennis Dove at 633-5975.
Titan youth football camp
The second annual Collins High School Titan Football Youth Camp will be from 6-8 p.m. July 12-14 at Titan Stadium.  The camp will be provided by the Collins football staff and will be $10 to campers grades kindergarten through eighth grade for the upcoming school year. Cornerstone basketball camp
Cornerstone Christian Academy will host a basketball camp for boys and girls Aug. 1-4. The camp will be led by former Shelby County High School coach Tom Creamer, former Cornerstone Christian Academy Coach Chris Armstrong and current Shelby County Lady Celtics coach John Raizor. There will also be current college coaches attending the camp throughout the week. The camp will focus on individual instruction,offensive moves, ball-handling and ball control,shooting,passing, defensive techniques and agility. Each day there will be a guest speaker, including college coaches and former players. Those entering first through fifth grade will be in the 9 a.m.-noon camp. Those entering sixth through ninth grade will be in the 1-4 p.m. afternoon session. Cost of the camp is $50 if paid, and registered, by July 15. Cost is $60 after July 15.
