Rockets basketball camps June 13-15
Shelby County will hold its boys’ and girls’ basketball camps June 13-15 at SCHS. The camp is for ages kindergarten through eighth-grade. The cost is $45. The girls’ camp will run from 9 a.m. until noon. The boys’ camp, which will feature former Shelby County star A.J. Collins boys’ basketball camp
The Collins Titans Summer Basketball Camp will take place June 13-16 at Collins High School. The camp, for grades 1-9, will run from 8:30-11:30 a.m. The camp will be conducted by the Collins boys’ basketball coaching staff and players. Fundamentals will be stressed along with competition in free throws, “hot shots,” ball-handling and 3-on-3. The cost is $50 if received by June 10. Late registration is $60. Learn America’s fastest growing sports. The Shelby County Parks Department has beginner and intermediate clinics for youth and adults. The first four-week session begins June 7. Calipari basketball camp at CAL
University of Kentucky men’s basketball coach John Calipari is hosting a one-day basketball camp with his staff June 23 at Christian Academy of Louisville. The camp is open to boys and girls in kindergarten through 12th grade and the fee is
$75 per child. There will be a morning session (9 a.m. until noon) and an afternoon session (1-4 p.m.). Campers will learn basketball skills through an intensive hands-on instructional environment, and will be taught techniques that can be further honed at home. Campers will receive a Kentucky basketball t-shirt and will have opportunities for autographs and photographs with the players and staff. Titan youth football camp
The second annual Collins High School Titan Football Youth Camp will be from 6-8 p.m. July 12-14 at Titan Stadium. The camp will be provided by the Collins football staff and will be $10 to campers grades kindergarten through eighth grade for the upcoming school year. Cornerstone basketball camp
Cornerstone Christian Academy will host a basketball camp for boys and girls Aug. 1-4. The camp will be led by former Shelby County High School coach Tom Creamer, former Cornerstone Christian Academy Coach Chris Armstrong and current Shelby County Lady Celtics coach John Raizor. There will also be current college coaches attending the camp throughout the week. The camp will focus on individual instruction,offensive moves, ball-handling and ball control,shooting,passing, defensive techniques and agility. Each day there will be a guest speaker, including college coaches and former players. Those entering first through fifth grade will be in the 9 a.m.-noon camp. Those entering sixth through ninth grade will be in the 1-4 p.m. afternoon session. Cost of the camp is $50 if paid, and registered, by July 15. Cost is $60 after July 15.
