Bass fishing meeting

Collins will be having a parent informational meeting regarding bass fishing at 6 p.m. Thursday in the Presentation room. If your child is interested in participating in bass fishing, a new sport sanctioned by the Kentucky High School Athletic Association, you must attend this meeting. PGA Jr. League sign-ups

The PGA Jr. Golf League of Shelbyville, for ages 9-13, are offering sign-ups through today. Cost is $250 per child. Team draft will be April 18 at Weissinger Hills Golf Course. Cornerstone Christian spring basketball league

Cornerstone Christian Academy will have an 8-game spring basketball league, for grades K-8, beginning on April 19. The games will be played on Tuesday and Fridays at Cornerstone. Practices will be on Monday and Thursdays. Cost is $75. Forms available at Cornerstone and various places throughout the community. Simpsonville co-rec softball sign-ups

Simpsonville County Parks & Recreation is offering co-rec softball (18 & up) sign-ups. Season runs from April 25-June 27. Cost is $400. Registration ends April 12. For more information visit www.simpsonvilleparks.com or call 722-8793. 

Habitat golf scramble

Shelby County’s Habitat for Humanity golf scramble for will be June 3 at Persimmon Ridge Country Club. Shotgun starts at noon. The cost is $125 for individuals or $500 for a foursome. 2013 Jim Wiley Baseball Camp

The 2013 Jim Wiley Baseball Camp will take place June 3-7 at Clear Creek Park. The camp, for ages 7-18, will be held from 9 a.m. until noon daily. Cost is $40 per camper or $70 for two campers. Camp highlights include individual instructions from Jim Wiley, an associate scout for the New York Yankees and coach of Shelbyville American Legion baseball team; Roy Bailey, a former player in the St. Louis Cardinals organization, the Shelbyville American Legion pitching coach and the head coach at Collins; Kyle Wiley, a former shortstop for the University of Southeastern Louisiana; and Donnie Williams, the former coach at Shelby County High. Campers, who will be grouped according to age and ability, will be taught proper fundamentals and also receive a t-shirt. In case of bad weather the camp will be moved to an indoor facility.
