Shelbyville golf scramble
The 13th annual City of Shelbyville E-Z Go Textron Charity Golf Scramble wll be April 18 at Weissinger Hills Golf Course. The format will be a four-person team scramble with prizes awarded to first, second and third places. The second- and third-place prizes will be determined by a blind draw. The cost is $200 for a foursome and $50 for an individual. No handicaps will be used. Entry forms are available at Weissinger Hills Golf Course or City Hall. Entry deadline is today. Cornerstone having spring sports signups

West Middle spring football practice

‘Get Golf Ready in 5 Days’ at Clear Creek
Clear Creek Golf Center is offering “Get Golf Ready in 5 Days,” a PGA Developed Adult Beginner Program, from 6-7:30 p.m. Monday-Friday. The course is for ages 18 & up. The cost is $99 per person. Topics will include Beginner Introduction to Fundamentals of Golf & Game Play. Loaner clubs are available. To register call 633-0375.

Shelby County Parks & Rec is offering an adult coed softball league. Cost is $425 per team. Leagues must have at least six teams to play. Entry fee must be paid when signing up or by coaches meeting, which is at 6:30 p.m. April 21. Games begin April 25. Games will have a 1-hour, 10-minute time limit. Deadline is April 21. Men’s open division softball league
Shelby County Parks & Rec is offering a men’s Thursday night open division softball league. Cost is $425 per team. League will be limited to first 12 paid teams. Entry fee (including all corporate and business-sponsored teams) must be paid by the mandatory coaches meeting, which is at 7 p.m. April 21. Games begin April 28. Each team will play at least a 10-game regular season. There will be a double-elimination tournament after the regular season. NSA rules. Eight-home run limit. Joe B & Denny golf scramble
The Easter Seals of Louisville’s 6th Annual Joe B. and Denny Celebrity Golf Scramble will be at 11 a.m. May 9 at Wildwood Country Club. Entry fees are $150 per player or $600 for a foursome. SCHS alumni baseball game set for May 14
Shelby County High School will hold its alumni baseball game at 5 p.m. May 14. All former SCHS baseball players are invited to participate. There will be a home run derby, a seven-inning alumni game (odd years vs. even years) that will follow the Rockets’ JV and varsity games. Corpus Christi Academy golf scramble
Corpus Christi Academy (formerly Our Lady of Guadalupe Academy) is having a golf scramble May 21 at Shelbyville Country Club. Registration begins at noon, the shotgun start is at 1:30 p.m. Cost is $65 per person or $260 for a four-person team. Cost includes green fees, cart and Famous Barrel Smoked BBQ dinner. Wiley Baseball Camp
The 2011 Jim Wiley Baseball Camp will take place June 6-10 at Clear Creek Park. The camp, for ages 7-18, will be held from 9 a.m. until noon daily. Cost is $40 per camper or $70 for two campers. Camp highlights include individual instructions from Jim Wiley, an associate scout for the New York Yankees and coach of Shelbyville American Legion Baseball; Roy Bailey, a former player in the St. Louis Cardinals organization, the Shelbyville American Legion pitching coach and the head coach of Collins High; Kyle Wiley, a former shortstop for the University of Southeastern Louisiana; and Donnie Williams, the former coach at Shelby County High. Campers, who will be grouped according to age and ability, will be taught proper fundamentals and also receive a t-shirt. In case of bad weather the camp will be moved to an indoor facility. Moorman golf scramble
The Marnel C. Moorman Sr. Family Life Center Inc. golf scramble begins 8 a.m. on June 24 at Weissinger Hills Golf Course. Pre-register by June 14. Proceeds will benefit scholarships and other.
