Southern Table, a restaurant that opened in downtown Shelbyville just in time for the holidays last fall, has closed its doors on the first days of summer amid the heat of a host of financial problems.
The restaurant, which featured what owner Chris Harris had called “classic Southern food,” drew sparse and inconsistent clientele to the space at 534 Main Street, the location that for decades had been the home to the Bistro and then Maggie’s Bistro, which had closed in 2010.
