Residents in Simpsonville will pay only one tenth of one percent more on for their property taxes in 2009.
The Simpsonville City Commission passed that increase Friday morning after a public hearing attended by no citizens.
The ad valorem tax increases from 9.1 cents to 9.2 cents per $100 of assessed value for 2009.
The change will generate about $4,000 more for the city general fund, City Treasurer Debbie Batliner said.
The tax will be due on Dec. 1, 2009, and late payments will be assessed a penalty of 10 percent annually.
