A Shelbyville woman who was arrested Friday on a DUI charge also has been charged with offering the officer cash and sexual favors to let her go, police say.
Tracy L. Warner, 43, of 115 Beechwood Ave. in Shelbyville was arrested shortly after midnight at a traffic safety checkpoint at KY 395 and U.S. 60, according to a Kentucky State Police report.
The arresting officer, KSP Trooper Hunter Martin, wrote in his report that Warner, who was dressed in jeans and cowboy boots, told him she had only had one Corona beer, but she had a nearly empty bottle of bourbon in her car.
Martin wrote in his report that on the way to the Shelby County Detention Center, Warner first offered him $1,000 in cash if he would let her go, then offered oral sex. He added that she repeatedly asked him to take her home, where she said she would pay him to have sex with her.
Warner is charged with DUI, first offense, possession of an open alcoholic beverage container in a vehicle, bribery of a public servant and failure to notify the Department of Transportation of an address change. The bribery charge is a Class C felony, punishable by 5 to 10 years in prison.
Warner, who on Saturday was released from the detention center on $500 bond, has a court date of Aug. 27 in Shelby District Court.
