The Shelbyville City Council will wrap up 2012 with a meeting on Thursday by hearing the second reading of two ordinances and beginning the process of updating the book of ordinances.
The council will vote on the second reading of an ordinance that will increase water and sewer rates for customers of Shelbyville Municipal Water by 3.85 percent. The increase was approved on first reading at the meeting on Dec. 6. The proposed increase would change a typical residential bill from $19.80 to $20.57.
