The Shelbyville City Council’s regular meeting Thursday was cut short because of a lack of a quorum, but not before two concerned citizens questioned the proposed new water tower on Prospect Avenue.
Two residents that live in the area questioned whether or not an historic area is the proper place for a water tower, and what kind of intrusion it would be to their properties.
Mayor Tom Hardesty noted that the property would be nothing other than home to a water tower, and that traffic in the area should not increase outside of the projected construction time.
