Shelby students earn EKU scholarships

Hundreds of incoming freshmen and transfer students have accepted merit-based scholarships to attend Eastern Kentucky University. Local recipients include:

Shelby County High School graduate Ashley Lynn Frank of Shelbyville has accepted a Music Department Scholarship.

Shelby County High School graduate Haley Vidal Shepherd of Shelbyville has accepted a Music Department Scholarship.

Collins High School graduate Taylor Lee Royse of Simpsonville has accepted a Presidential Scholarship.

Anderson County High School graduate Seth Bradley Nethery of Mount Eden has accepted a Presidential Scholarship.

Eminence Middle-High School graduate Benjamin Joseph Smith of Bagdad has accepted a Presidential Scholarship.

The Excellence Award, Founders Award, Regents Scholarship, Presidential Scholarship and Merit Scholarship are for incoming high school freshmen. The Colonel, Colonel Plus, Maroon and Maroon Plus scholarships are for incoming transfer students.
