-A A +A

Shelby Energy Cooperative is offering six $1,000 scholarships, in a program designed to enhance the education and resulting careers of high school seniors. Two scholarships per district served by Shelby Energy will be awarded.

One $1,000 scholarship will be offered in a program designed to enhance the education and career of a high school senior planning to attend an approved line technician training program as a full-time student.

An educational trip for three high school juniors to Washington, D.C., from June 15 through 22, will be awarded. The Washington Youth Tour is a program providing an all-expense-paid educational trip for high school juniors, between the ages of 16 and 18.

Semifinalists from each school will be chosen to attend a 1-day trip to Frankfort, and finalists selected for the Washington will be notified following the tour in Frankfort.

To qualify, the parents or guardians of the applicant must be a member of Shelby Energy. Applicants must also be graduating high school seniors and plan to enter a line technician training program after graduating. The scholarship recipient will be announced at their high school awards program.
