The Kentucky State Fair traditionally has been home to a good time, but it also serves as a way to show off Shelby County to the rest of the state — and this year's fair is no exception.
The fair opened Thursday at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville, with rides, concerts, the World's Championship Horse Show, competitions and exhibits.
“There's really something for everyone, no matter what age,” from concerts and fried food to dancing and singing pigs, said Vicki Glass, a spokesperson for the Kentucky State Fair Board.
