Shelby Chef wins Silver Ladle Award

Shelby County High School senior Nathan Myatt won the prestigious Silver Ladle Award at the Church of Annunciation Chili Cook-Off. Nathan, a culinary arts student at SCHS, used some of the principles and techniques he has learned in class to develop his own “secret” chili recipe. Nathan’s chili beat out 20 competitors. Nathan’s culinary arts teacher, Kelli Cauley, described his efforts as brilliant, stating “this student has a way of blending spices together to make a masterpiece.”
