Sharp shooting lifts Davis to air rifle title

Shelby County graduate and University of Kentucky sophomore Connor Davis won two gold medals –in the men’s open and junior 10-meter air rifle competitions – Dec. 8 at the 2013 Winter Airgun Championships at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo.

Davis won the men’s open title in a shoot-off with George Norton of Fort Benning, Ga., after the two were tied after 20 shots. In the 1-shot shootout Davis scored 10.2 to Norton’s 10.0.

Davis won the junior competition by defeating Ryan Anderson of Wasilla, Alaska, in the final.
